The first message that I want to give to the entire young brain injury survivor (TBI) community is that recovery after any kind of severe brain injury is easy and simple. The human brain is such a huge, complex biological organ that researchers are still working to understand its diverse functionality. What a human brain can do is beyond the knowledge of biological scientists and researchers. Every time scientists do research on the brain, they find new and fascinating things about the human brain.
So always keep in mind that no matterhow severely your brain is damaged, it can still do wonders with the rest of the part of your brain that is still working well.
Today, science says the brain does not have the capacity to regenerate its lost parts like other parts of our body, but maybe it will say later that it can regenerate. What science says about the brain is not final; they are saying what they have found in researching the brain, and their research is not yet complete.
So after any kind of brain injury, always keep in mind that you have lost only a few brain cells, and your brain has billions of neurons. Your brain has the full authority to transfer the workings of the damaged cell or parts of the brain to the healthy cells of the brain. This is neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections, which allows the neurons in the brain to compensate for injury and adjust their activities in response to new situations or changes in their environment. The human brain always keeps itself ready for any kind of change that can happen at any stage of life.
Through a well-structured rehabilitation and strength and conditioning program, you can easily rewire your brain and get your lost physical capabilities back in time.
Also, recovery does not stop after one or two years from the injury; this is wrong information. The human brain, after any kind of injury, keeps recovering and healing till the very end of life. Certain factors like the extent of damage, how long a person was in a coma or unconsciousness, the length of inactivity, and age and health before the accident may affect the recovery of that person and take time, but with patience, smart work, and an effective rehabilitation and strength and conditioning program, a person will sail through it and recover in no time.
Always remember: recovery after any kind of severe brain injury is easy, especially when you are young. You need not compromise and live the rest of his life in disability. The human braincan do wonders, and it never creates barriers for a survivor in recovery. I am here to make things easy for you and help you gain your lost physical capabilities back.
Thanks.
